Tryout Eligibility
Anyone who is a full time student at UCF or has received a letter of acceptance may tryout. This includes incoming freshmen and transfer students. Current UCF students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be free of any academic or disciplinary probation.

How to Prepare
First and foremost, get your application in to the university as soon as possible to insure that you are accepted to attend school here. You will then want to be sure that you are in top physical condition. Our dance team members are nationally competitive athletes who attend workouts in addition to regular practices. We have listed some tips below to help you prepare for dance auditions at UCF.
Academic Acceptance to UCF
If you have not yet applied and been accepted to UCF:
Prospective students may easily apply on line at www.ucf.edu/admission.html We strongly recommend that incoming Freshmen apply no later than September/October of their senior year. How to improve your chances for academic acceptance and tryout success:
-
HS Sophomores & Juniors
1. Maintain a high core GPA.
2. Take the SAT/ACT test for the first time by the spring of your Junior year.
3. Take a campus tour and attend the spring clinic offered by UCF's team.
4. Be sure that you have filled out and submitted a prospect information sheet and emailed or turned it in. This will allow us to track your progress through high school and keep you informed of updates with our program.
-
HS Seniors
1. Apply for admission to UCF no later than October of your senior year
2. If you are concerned about getting accepted you may want to consider applying for summer admission. Standards for summer admission are often not as stringent as it is for the fall.
3. Arrange for a "College Day" visit to take an official tour of the campus and try to include a fall football weekend or fall basketball game to watch our dance team in action. Campus tours can be arranged on line by Clicking HERE
4. Attend our college prep clinic in February of your senior year.
Physical Preparation Tips for Tryouts
UCF College Prep Clinics: Each Spring, we hold a one day college prep dance clinic in late February. This clinic is designed for women who are trying out for college dance teams and want to prepare for auditions. HS Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who attend will have an opportunity to meet our coaching staff and work with our team members. This is an excellent opportunity to improve your skills and can provide an invaluable experience. The next Spring clinic will be held in the Spring of 2009.
