Was home-schooled, but played at the high school level at Eau Gallie for coach Paul Davis... as a senior, claimed the Florida Class 3A State title... posted a 14-1 singles mark in 2005... Orlando Sentinel 2005 Boys Player of the Year... following his junior campaign, was named the Florida Today All-Space Coast Player of the Year... as an amateur, was ranked 80th nationally and 13th in the state of Florida.
