Leigh Crosby got a relatively late start in the game of golf at age 14, but advanced quickly. She shows a lot of promise and should have a solid college career at UCF. Spring 2007: Finished 29th overall in the Florida State Championship...Tied for 56th place at the Liz Murphy Invitational...Competed in the Gator Invitational...Competed in the UCF Challenge finishing in a tie for 51st place. Fall 2006: Earned a spot in the UCF lineup in all four events, concluding the fall with a stroke average of 78.73 and firing one round of par or better...Team's highest finisher at the NCAA Fall Preview, tying for 71st after carding a final round of one-over 73...At the Wildcat Invitational, shot a lower score as the tournament progress, ultimately tying for 35th...Recorded an even-par 72 in the opening round en route to tying for 51st at the Lady Pirate Invitational...Placed in a tie for 47th at the Auburn Derby. Prior to UCF: Crosby graduated with honors from Oconee High School in Watkinsville, Ga., where she led the team with a nine-hole stroke average of 37 as a senior. She helped her team to a state championship and two runner-up finishes. She finished second in the individual standings in the state tournament as a senior. She was named most improved as a sophomore, earned the Warrior Leadership Award as a junior and was the team medalist as a senior at OHS. She was named area player of the year by the Athens Banner-Herald. She also had success on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour. She set a tournament record with a 3-under 69 en route to topping a field of 120 at the Georgia Peach Girl's High School Invitational. She was involved in community service at OHS, assisting with the HERO Club for special needs students and Relay for Life and was secretary of the Anchor Club, a community service organization.
